How We Got Here
Hello, I'm Josie, founder and visionary of B. Cattini. As a first-generation Latinx American, I've built this venture through sheer determination and drive, despite my formal training being in business management.
The concept emerged when my husband presented me with elegant black boots featuring a seemingly purposeless open zipper. During a road trip conversation with a friend, we conceived an innovative footwear design - a shoe system where attachable components transform basic footwear like sneakers or stilettos into boots. Our vision emphasizes inclusivity, accommodating diverse body types and heights through adaptable sizing. The process is simple: select your size, attach the component, zip it up, and you're equipped for any occasion.
Energized by this concept, I experimented by modifying my daughter's boot and visited a craft store to develop an initial prototype. After securing professional designs and a patent, I shared my progress with my supportive cousin. Though she unfortunately succumbed to cancer before the patent was approved, her encouragement and network connections proved invaluable. Through her contacts, I established a partnership with a Spanish manufacturer. Currently, I have professional prototypes ready and am eager to introduce this product to the market. However, I'm seeking a collaborative partner to assist with this venture. If this opportunity interests you, please reach out to me!
